Frequently Asked Questions
You're not alone in wondering...
Starting therapy or coaching is a big step, and you may have a lot of questions. I hope this page brings you clarity and a sense of ease. If your question isn’t listed here, feel free to email me at windynotes@me.com or schedule a free consultation.
1. How do I know if you're the right therapist or coach for me?
It’s important to feel safe and supported in this process. My clients often tell me they were drawn to the blend of warmth, depth, and holistic healing I offer. If you're looking for something beyond just “coping”—something that gets to the root—I may be a good fit. Let’s talk and see.
2. What kinds of people do you work with?
I work with adults, couples, and fellow therapists who are navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Many of my clients are women and men in midlife or professionals who give a lot to others and are finally ready to turn toward their own healing.
3. What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a gentle beginning. We’ll talk about what’s been showing up in your life, explore your goals, and start to get a feel for how we’ll work together. You won’t be rushed or pushed to go deeper than you’re ready for.
4. What methods do you use?
I draw from a blend of body-based and depth-oriented approaches, including:
Somatic Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Hakomi (mindfulness-based inner work)
Parts Work (inspired by Internal Family Systems)
Developmental Couples Therapy and Relational Life Therapy
This integrative approach allows us to work with your nervous system, your story, and your emotional patterns—so healing happens from the inside out.
5. Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! I offer secure online sessions for California residents (therapy) and coaching for clients outside of California. All you need is a quiet space and a stable internet connection.
6. What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy is for California residents and is focused on healing trauma, anxiety, and emotional challenges.
Coaching is available anywhere and is focused on growth, mindset, relationship patterns, and spiritual healing.
If you’re unsure which is right for you, we can explore that in your consultation.
7. Do you work with couples?
Yes. I offer sessions and intensives for couples who feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed by conflict. You’ll learn new ways of relating, communicating, and understanding each other—with tools that foster real connection.
8. Do you support therapists and healers?
Absolutely. I love working with therapists, coaches, and healers who are feeling burned out or unclear about their next chapter. My Therapist Sanctuary offerings include consulting, personal healing, and support in building a sustainable, soul-aligned practice.
9. How long will I need to come to therapy or coaching?
It depends on your goals. Some clients feel meaningful shifts within a few months, while others choose to work longer for deeper integration. We’ll check in regularly to ensure our work continues to feel purposeful and aligned.
10. What are your fees, and do you take insurance?
Sessions range in length and cost based on the work we’re doing. I’m a private-pay provider, but I can offer a superbill if your insurance accepts out-of-network providers. I can also take Health Savings Accounts. My fees for a 75-minute session are $180.00
11. How do I get started?
Just email me at windynotes@me.com. We’ll talk about what’s going on, what kind of support you're looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
