About Windy
Experience. Compassion. A Deeper Understanding of Change.
I'm Windy DiPietro, MA, LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate life's emotional and relational challenges.
I believe that meaningful change begins with connection—with ourselves, with others, and with the parts of our experience we may have learned to avoid.
My work is grounded in the understanding that many of our struggles began as ways of protecting ourselves. Over time, those same protective patterns can interfere with the closeness, confidence, and peace we want in our lives.
Therapy offers an opportunity to understand those patterns, develop new ways of responding, and create relationships that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.
Rainer Maria Rilke
A Little of My Own Journey
My understanding of healing comes from more than my professional training. It also comes from living through difficult chapters of my own life.
I've experienced times of uncertainty, loss, and the challenge of finding my way forward when life looked very different from what I had imagined. I've known what it's like to put others' needs before my own, question myself, and discover that some patterns that once helped me survive no longer serve the life I want to create.
My own journey has taught me that healing isn't always a straight path. It takes courage to look honestly at ourselves, compassion to understand how we arrived where we are, and patience as we learn to respond differently.
Over the years, mindfulness, meditation, and my own personal growth have deepened my appreciation for the connection between mind, body, and spirit. They've also taught me the importance of slowing down, listening inward, and making room for both our vulnerability and our strength.
Perhaps most importantly, I've learned that our past doesn't have to define the rest of our lives. We can develop a different relationship with ourselves, create healthier connections with others, and discover possibilities we once couldn't imagine.
These experiences have shaped not only who I am, but how I sit with the people who come into my office—with warmth, honesty, compassion, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to change.
My Approach
I bring warmth, curiosity, and years of specialized training to our work together.
My approach integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work, and relational therapies. Rather than relying on conversation alone, we pay attention to how your experiences shape your emotions, your nervous system, and how you relate to yourself and others.
For individuals, we may focus on resolving old wounds, building self-trust, and responding to life's challenges with greater confidence and emotional balance.
For couples, we explore the dynamics that create distance and conflict while developing the skills needed for repair, understanding, and deeper connection.
Every person and every relationship is different. Our work is collaborative, personalized, and guided by your needs and goals. You don’t have to stay stuck in the story that hurt you.
Professional Background
I hold a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #34473).

I continue to pursue professional education because I believe effective therapy requires both experience and a commitment to lifelong learning.
